Question: Describe about the Digital Technology Leads to Academic Success. Answer: Introduction: There is less doubt that technology and information has changed the world we live in. It had made communication, working and learning a lot more easy than what it was earlier. The world around us seems to be transforming only because of digital technology. The word digital technology is based on two processes, one it is based on digitized information, which is recorded in the form of binary code and its combination, which is known as bits. This is the representation of images and words. With the help of digital technology, huge amount of information can be compressed on small storage devices than can be easily transported or compressed (Beetham and Sharpe 2013). With the help of digital technology, one can easily transform data with quick speed. Academic success helps in achieving the goal, which leads to the formation of healthy competition between students. Academic success focuses on the acquisition of skills of the students. Based on the points presented in the paper, I agree tha t digital technology leads to academic success and it has changed the existing current educational system (Wartella et al. 2013). A good understanding of digital media shall help students in the evaluation of information and discovering the use of technology. With the increased use of media and digital, students shall have the capability to validate the sources they find and examine the information they have with them (Blackwell, Lauricella and Wartella 2014). The use of digital technology in education helps the students to improve their literacy in technology and knowledge about information learning capacity. Technology helps student in the preparation of world and gives them the strength to compete with the world. They get a confidence of facing the world at large and have the capabilities of increasing their knowledge through media (Buckingham 2013). Body Paragraph 1: The word digital literacy means the ability to use information in a way that shall enhance the technical or cognitive skills of an individual. In recent times, it is important for students to learn and know the use of technology. The information and communication technologies include internet searches, databases and smart technologies. A good understanding of digital media shall help students in the evaluation of information and discovering the use of technology (Blackwell, Lauricella and Wartella 2014). With the increased use of media and digital, students shall have the capability to validate the sources they find and examine the information they have with them. Students shall become capable of gathering the data together they have collected using digital media. Apart from the academic success, students shall also become capable of using social networks and other congregate social networks. A research was conducted by Learning.Com by a group of managers who were part of the Profess ional development team. As per their research, it was seen that students who are technologically more advance could tackle their academic assignments in a more effective and efficient way than students who have less knowledge about digital media. Staci Horne, Director of Evaluation and Assessment, conducted a similar research and concluded with the same findings. However, there are differences in theory and practice, and often it is seen that students are not able to execute their theoretical knowledge practically and this is how they fall short or lag behind in proper execution of understanding of digital technology (Buckingham 2013). Body Paragraph 2: The use of digital technology in education helps the students to improve their literacy in technology and knowledge about information learning capacity. Technology helps student in the preparation of world and gives them the strength to compete with the world. A developing body of evidences has shown that technology and academic success have improved student behavior, attendance, engagement, and improved opportunities for professional development of students (Clift, Liptak and Rosen 2016). Rosemary Rinker conducted a recent study, she identified the time each child would spend on the computer. Gradually she noticed that after proper learning of technology, students were promoted to middle school with better technological skills and understanding. It was seen that the students were proficient in their basic literacy skills. There was a requirement to change the tra ditional learning ways for the improvement of the students through technological learning. However, if students rely too much on technological learning and completely reject the traditional learning then they might have to face issues when they are exposed to traditional learning situations. Hence, it is important for us to understand that students should be exposed to both situation of learning (Dahlstrom, Walker and Dziuban 2013). Learning is a flexible asset and students should be accustomed to understanding each of the ways of learning easily. Education technology is important and the changed learning needs have become increasingly important for students. Conclusion: From the above studies, it can be concluded that the digital technologies can surely help in gaining the academic success. It can be seen from both of the conducted surveys that technology advancement has helped students in enriching their knowledge. Though there is, some harm like it makes a person very busy when not used for academic purpose. The students might get engaged in surfing social networking sites, but apart from that it can really help students in their studies (Goode 2010). The digital technologies have helped the students in improving their academic results as observed in undergraduate students. The technologies have helped the students in a variety of ways like getting more knowledge about studies and improving their skills. The technology has always motivated young people in improving their knowledge and elaborating their knowledge about any topic. The technology uses and its applications can be found as evidence from above. The students are always benefited by using the digital technologies for their study purpose. The students and even professors have equally benefited by the use of digital technologies in their teaching purpose. Conclusively, I think that digital technology leads to academic success. It has the capability of increasing the efficiency of the learners or students to become intensively interested in the work that is completed by them. Additionally, it also enables students to gain success with the help of digital technology. Technology helps in the collaboration and effective interaction for learning. The use of computers and digital technology become more productive when learners are able to implement them in their day-to-day learning activities. The use of digital technology is more like a supplement rather than a replacement for the present learning system. Hence, digital technology is a useful tool when it comes to enhancing the educational system.
